Common Sense Networks’ Streaming Service Sensical HONORED in Media and Entertainment Category of Fast Company’s 2022 World Changing Ideas Awards

Free, Age-Appropriate Streaming Service for Kids 2-10 Touted As One of the Year’s Bold Innovations alongside other products, concepts, companies, policies, and designs that are driving change and tackling issues that matter

Los Angeles, May 3, 2022 – Today, Common Sense Networks’ Sensical, a best-in class, streaming service for kids 2-10, made the select list of Fast Company’s 2022 World Changing Ideas in the Media and Entertainment Category. The announcement was made by Eric Berger, Common Sense Networks’ CEO.

Sensical, nominated by Kidscreen as Best Kids-Only Streaming Service, offers age-appropriate, short form content from Sensical certified creators ––including video and audio––for kids ages 2-10. Inspired by the work of Common Sense Media, a resource to families for almost two decades, Sensical exceeds industry standards by filtering 100% of its content through a rigorous, proprietary IP and rubric grounded in science and based on the most comprehensive child development research available. The topic-driven, 60+ channel service, which launched in June 2021, is certified by the kidSAFE+ ® COPPA Seal Program and offers families an algorithm-free, worry-free OTT destination via an array of streaming devices, smart TV manufacturers, and mobile devices.

Now in its sixth year, the World Changing Ideas Awards showcased 39 winners, 350 finalists, and more than 600 honorable mentions—with climate, social justice, and AI and data among the most popular categories. A panel of eminent Fast Company editors and reporters selected winners and finalists from a pool of more than 2,997 entries across transportation, education, food, politics, technology, health, social justice, and more. In addition, several new categories have been added this year including climate, nature, water, and workplace. The 2022 awards feature entries from across the globe, from Switzerland to Hong Kong to Australia. Sensical will also be included in a list of honorees in Fast Company’s Summer 2022 issue (on newsstands May 10, 2022).

Eric Berger, CEO, Common Sense Networks, Sensical’s parent company, said: “We are humbled to be part of such an elite list this year. Given our goal to be the gold standard in children’s entertainment and elevate the world of digital media for kids, we see this recognition as gratifying, encouraging and inspiring as we continue to push forward our agenda to raise the industry standard when it comes to putting kids first. We want to thank everyone at Fast Company for taking the time to evaluate our service and everyone at Sensical who moved heaven and earth to bring our service to life.”

Sensical has been touted by a wide range of media including TechCrunch, noting the services’ content, “assured to be age-appropriate  - even the ads…” is an area “that’s often overlooked on other services.” The Wall Street Journal described Sensical as a “good find”;  Romper says that “parents can rest easy” as “anything their child chooses to watch on Sensical is 100% kid-appropriate”; and Fatherly shared that Sensical’s “age-appropriate categories are a game-changer.”

“We are consistently inspired by the novelty and creativity that people are applying to solve some of our society’s most pressing problems, from shelter to the climate crisis. Fast Company relishes its role in amplifying important, innovative work to address big challenges,” says David Lidsky, interim editor-in-chief of Fast Company. “Our journalists have identified some of the most ingenious initiatives to launch since the start of 2021, which we hope will both have a meaningful impact and lead others to join in being part of the solution.”
